This is an ecumenical committee which exists to promote Christian fellowship among people of different denominations in our villages.
Currently our members include representatives of the Anglican (Christ Church), Methodist/United Reformed (Marston Chapel), and Roman Catholic (St Josephs West Lavington) churches.
We co-ordinate various joint activities including the Newcomer's Party, the Good Friday Hunger Lunch and several joint acts of worship.
The Newcomer's Party is usually held annually in January in the Village Hall. We invite all those who have moved into the villages of Worton and Marston over the previous year, in order to meet established village folk and inform them of village activities.
However it is with great regret that the Family of Churches Committee have decided that this will have to be postponed in 2022. The rising Covid figures, including some locally, and the potential numbers attending, are a great cause for concern. We now plan to hold the event on Friday April 29th in the Village Hall. We hope that by then the Covid situation will have improved and the weather will be better enough to have windows and doors open, and even allow people to wander outside.
